What is Binder?
Binder is a social and community platform, shaped by queer culture and open to everyone. You build one profile with room for all of you, post Signals for what you’re up for, find people and events nearby, and Binder turns it into a plan and a group chat. It’s built to get you off the screen and into the room.
Is Binder a dating app?
No. Binder is for organising plans and real-world gatherings — nights out, creative projects, community spaces, a coffee with someone new. It is not a dating service or an introductions agency, and we don’t charge for introductions or contacts.
Who is Binder for?
Everyone aged 18 and over in the UK. Binder is shaped by queer culture, and it’s for anyone who wants a social life with more depth than a feed — especially the people who host, curate and build scenes.
Where is Binder available?
Binder launches in London on 10 October 2026. If you’re outside London, you can apply to join the beta and help shape where we go next. You can follow our growth on the community growth page.
Does it cost anything?
We ask members to cover the cost of their identity and age check. Beyond that, you can choose to make optional contributions to support the platform. Payments are processed by Stripe. The details are on our company page.
How do you check people are 18 or over?
Everyone completes an age check with Stripe Identity: a photo of a government-issued ID and a selfie with a liveness check. Binder keeps only the result (an 18+ pass or fail, the date and Stripe’s reference), not your document, date of birth or biometric data.
What happens to my data?
We collect what we need to run Binder and keep you safe. Location is optional and fuzzed to protect your precise whereabouts. Your profile and messages are encrypted at rest, but not end-to-end encrypted, so that we can meet our legal and safety obligations. Read the full Privacy Policy.
How do I stay safe meeting people?
Meet in public, tell a friend where you’re going, and trust your instincts. Our Safety Guidelines and Community Guidelines cover this in full, and you can report anyone who breaks them.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account at any time, with or without the app. See how to delete your account.
