Community Guidelines & Acceptable Use
Binder Community Limited · No. 17058768
Overview
Binder is built for genuine connection and self-expression, including for LGBTQ+ and other communities. These Community Guidelines (which include our Acceptable Use rules) set out what is and isn’t allowed. They apply to everyone and to all content and conduct on Binder, and they form part of our Terms of Service.
1. Our values
Be respectful. Be real. Keep people safe. We want Binder to be a place where people can be themselves without fear of abuse, deception or harm.
2. Zero tolerance: child safety
Binder is strictly for adults. We have zero tolerance for any sexual content involving, or any sexualisation of, anyone under 18, and for any attempt to access, groom or contact a minor. We remove such content, report it to the relevant authorities, and ban those responsible.
3. Illegal content and activity
Don’t post content or do anything that is illegal, or that encourages or facilitates a crime.
No content that incites or threatens violence, or that promotes terrorism.
No selling or promoting illegal goods or services.
4. Harassment, threats and bullying
No harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation or stalking.
No targeting individuals or groups with abuse, pile-ons or coordinated harm.
5. Hate and discrimination
No hate speech or discriminatory content that attacks or dehumanises people because of a protected characteristic — including race, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, or age.
6. Sexual content, consent and intimate images
No sharing of non-consensual intimate images, and no threats to share them.
No sending unsolicited sexual images or content (‘cyberflashing’).
Respect consent at all times; no sexual content involving anyone who has not, or cannot, consent.
7. Self-harm and suicide content
Don’t post content that encourages or promotes self-harm, suicide or eating disorders. If you’re struggling, please see our Safety Guidelines for support options.
8. Privacy, outing and doxxing
Don’t share anyone’s private information without consent, including their identity, sexual orientation, gender identity, location, images or contact details.
Don’t ‘out’ anyone.
9. Authenticity: no impersonation, fake profiles or scams
Be yourself — no impersonating other people, brands or organisations.
No fake or bot accounts, catfishing, or using false information.
No scams, fraud, phishing, spam, or unsolicited advertising or solicitation.
10. Security and platform integrity
Don’t upload malware, attempt to hack, or interfere with the Platform’s security or operation.
Don’t scrape, harvest or collect other users’ data.
11. How we enforce these Guidelines
We use a combination of automated tools (including automated image moderation) and human review. Depending on the seriousness and context, we may: remove or restrict content; issue a warning; limit features; suspend; or permanently ban an account. Serious or illegal conduct may be reported to the authorities.
Where a decision significantly affects you, we will, where appropriate, tell you why and give you a way to request human review and to challenge it. We may act without prior notice where necessary, for example to deal with illegal content or a safety risk.
12. Reporting, and changes to these Guidelines
If you see something that breaks these Guidelines, report it in the app. We may update these Guidelines from time to time and will publish the current version.
