1. Our community
Binder is a connection platform for adults (18+) in the United Kingdom, built to help people meet and form genuine connections, including within LGBTQ+ communities. These Guidelines apply to everything you do on Binder — your profile, Dimensions, signals, plans, messages, images and conduct — alongside our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Safety Guidelines.
2. Our values
• Respect — treat others with dignity; diverse identities and expressions are welcome.
• Authenticity — be yourself; do not impersonate others or misrepresent who you are.
• Safety — look out for one another; report content or conduct that could cause harm.
• Consent — respect other people's boundaries, privacy and choices.
3. What is not allowed
• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexualisation of minors — zero tolerance; reported to the authorities (section 6).
• Illegal content — terrorist content, incitement to violence, and other priority illegal content under the OSA 2023.
• Non-consensual intimate images, voyeurism, or threats to share intimate images.
• Harassment, bullying, stalking or threats, including unwanted sexual advances after someone has said no.
• Hate — attacks based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or other protected characteristics.
• Violence and dangerous acts — credible threats, promotion of violence, or promotion of self-harm or suicide.
• Fraud, scams and spam; impersonation and fake accounts; and evading a ban with a new account.
• Sharing others' private information (doxxing) without consent.
4. Adult content
Binder welcomes authentic self-expression, including body-positive and identity-affirming content and fetishwear as fashion. Binder is NOT an adult or pornographic service. The following are NOT permitted: sexually explicit or pornographic content; depictions of sexual acts; graphic nudity; and exposure of genitals. The absolute prohibitions in section 3 (including any sexualisation of minors) always apply, and all users must be 18 or over.
5. How we enforce
We detect issues through your reports and through automated image scanning (Microsoft PhotoDNA for known illegal content; other automated classifiers are not yet in use but may be enabled over time). Enforcement decisions are made by our human moderators — we may warn, remove or restrict content, or suspend or ban an account, depending on seriousness and context. Accounts are not suspended or banned automatically by a single report; a moderator reviews first. Ban evasion is itself a breach.
6. Illegal content and reporting
We act quickly to remove illegal content once aware, and preserve the minimum record required by law. Child sexual abuse material is reported to the National Crime Agency via CEOP and, where applicable, the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF); terrorist content to the police. We do not treat NCMEC (a US body) as our primary route.
7. Reporting and appeals
You can report content or a user from anywhere in the app. If we take action against your account or content and you think we got it wrong, you can request a human review and put your point of view. A dedicated, tracked appeal route is being built; in the interim, appeals are handled by our team via the contact below.
8. Changes
We may update these Guidelines from time to time and will notify you of material changes. The version and date at the top show when they were last revised.
