What we do
Binder Community Limited is a UK software company. We develop and operate Binder, a social and community platform delivered as a mobile application and an accompanying website.
On Binder, adults create a profile describing their interests and the contexts in which they want to take part, discover other people and groups on that basis, communicate through in-app messaging, and organise and attend real-world gatherings, community events and cultural nights. The company builds and runs the platform; it is not a marketplace, and it does not handle payments between users.
Our registered activities are software development (SIC 62012), web portals (SIC 63120) and other information technology service activities (SIC 62090).
What Binder is not
Binder is a community and events platform. It is not a dating service or an introductions agency. We do not operate a matchmaking service, we do not charge for introductions or contacts, we do not host adult content, and we earn no revenue from any of those activities.
How Binder earns money
All of the company’s income is received by card through Stripe, and comprises:
• recovery of the cost of identity and age-assurance checks carried out on users; and
• optional contributions made by users who choose to support the platform.
Those contributions are the company’s own trading income. Binder Community Limited is not a charity and does not fundraise for any third party. We do not hold, pool or transmit money on behalf of anyone else, and we do not operate client, trust or escrow accounts. We take no cash and no cheques.
The platform is currently in closed beta. Payment processing is not yet live.
Who Binder is for
Binder is for adults aged 18 and over in the United Kingdom. This restriction reflects our obligations under the Online Safety Act 2023 and our own community-safety policies. Age assurance is being finalised for public launch: access to the closed beta is limited to invited adults who confirm they are 18 or over, and the Stripe Identity age-verification flow is not yet operational in the beta. Safety and data protection
We screen uploaded images against databases of known illegal content, operate published community guidelines and complaints routes, and are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office. Our Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, Safety Guidelines and Complaints Policy set out how this works and how to raise a concern.
